not quite ashley blue

I flew from DC to NY for the flight to Athens.

That flight was on Frontier Airlines. I was very excited to receive peanut butter crackers.

I saw the latest issue of GQ while hanging out at JFK for FOUR AND A HALF HOURS. Men of style from the past 50 years. Paul Newman, Robert Redford, Al Pacino and . . . Tom Brady?

The flight to Athens wasn't as dreadful as I thought it would be, considering the fact that it was 10 hours and I was sitting in COACH. I was alone in a two seater with a bulk head in front of me so I could stretch my legs and the flight attendant in first class snuck me champagne. Which was helpful in swallowing those sleeping pills . . .

Jory Des Jardins, from BlogHer, the only other women on the bus ride from the airport to the conference center.

John got here soon after I did. My plan to take a shower and a nap went out the window.

But I did manage to find the time to walk into the Mediterranean Sea for the first time in my life.

John used one of the new Flip cameras to document the act of having someone add a session to the conference schedule. Riveting.

This blog is brought to you by the kind people
(including Nic Fulton from Reuters here), who made the wifi work.

the ha detto virus

The wifi is up and running at the conference (seemed questionable there for a while) and I immediately signed up to check out what has been happening on this blog.

In seconds, I managed to convinced myself that someone had hacked into Blogger and gave everyone who commented on my blog the last name "ha detto." As in "andre ha detto" or "kristen ha detto" or "anonymous ha detto."

Yeah. Um. That is Italian for "said."

And, while I am indeed in Greece, we've apparently rigged a satellite based in Turin for our wifi access.

I am an American idiot.

And I have seen my first plate of feta. Photos coming soon.

Update: Proof of feta.

going to greece

At some point during the trip, I believe I will eat something with feta.

I am going to Greece in the morning. I'm feeling a little frazzled -- not a great deal of sleep and a big ol' pile of work to do.

This is not vacation. I am heading to Stream 2007, a gathering of employees and clients of the company that owns the agency that currently "owns" me. We'll be joined by others who get off -- like we do -- on all things digital. It's an "unconference," which means my control freak personality will be put to the test.

I'm bring the new camera, as well as some new Flip video cameras that we bought this week, so watch this space for some tales of -- hopefully -- adventure.

Wish me luck.
