catching up

Last week was busy and I spent this weekend attempting (somewhat unsuccessfully) to catch up on my newspaper reading. In Thursday's Post, Dana Milbank reported a might-have-spoken-too-fast article about how the "conventional wisdom" around DC was that no one would be retiring from the Supreme Court this year.

Oops.

Friday's Post had a great piece about the Bush Administration's propensity to overinflate the contribution they are making to the war against global HIV/AIDS.

"When it came time to tabulate the Bush program's successes in Botswana, every patient receiving antiretroviral drugs from the national program was included. U.S. officials also counted several thousand others who were receiving their medicine from private doctors because some had benefitted from a U.S.-funded training program."

I'm still reading . . .
