killed and maimed and protested
This afternoon, I read on Andrew Sullivan's site this that Fred Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church (best known for their catchy "G-d Hates Fags" slogan) had protested at a Special Forces soldier's funeral on Monday. I presumed, despite our military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy regarding gay soldiers, that it had come out that the soldier was gay.
Nope. Phelps' group has decided to protest at soldiers' funerals because they believe that these soldiers are being punished by G-d — killed and maimed in combat — because of the United States' tolerance for homosexuality.
Just when you thought the scum of the earth couldn't get any scummier.
