Dan sent me the link to Spreading Santorum twice, so I guess he really wanted me to look at it. I did give it a quick once over (primarily looking at the opening page, which helpfully defines "santorum" as "the frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the byproduct of anal sex"), but checked it out for real this morning.

Anyway, you're right if you think that "santorum" sounds a little familiar. Yes, it is the last name of the beloved Republican Senator from Pennsylvania who compared gay male sex to dog humping (as in, man expressing his deep love for his best friend by sticking his cock up his little doggie tuchus). Apparently, "santorum" originated from a contest that Dan Savage held among his readers to come up with a word that would ensure that the scandal of Santorum's bigotry toward gay people would never be forgotten. The primary feature of the site are letters from Savage's readers about the spread of the use of the word and updates on new asinine things that the Senator has done. My favorite is the letter from Senator Santorum to a constituent who has alerted him to the existence of the site.
