more on buster

So, I didn't understand this before, but Postcards from Buster combines cartoons (Buster) with live action. So, the lesbian moms he meets in Vermont are real lesbian moms. In the flesh.

Buster's show revolves around him taking trips and meeting up with kids to see how they live. According to The New York Times, "One episode featured a family with five children, living in a trailer in Virginia, all sharing one room. In another, Buster visits a Mormon family in Utah. He has dropped in on fundamentalist Christians and Muslims as well as American Indians and Hmong. He has shown the lives of children who have only one parent, and those who live with grandparents."

The money that the Department of Education is now asking for PBS to return was meant to be spent on television programs that "appeal to all of America's children by providing them with content and characters with which they can identify. Diversity will be incorporated into the fabric of the series to help children understand and respect differences and learn to live in a multicultural society."

So, I guess, according to Margaret Spellings, "All of America's children" does not include the children of gay and lesbian parents.

You know, I can't think of a single witty thing to say about this. Nope. Nothing funny at all. Just feeling a little sad in a pathetic sappy liberal sort of way. Like I just found out that the world is an unjust place and Santa's not coming to my house.

Margaret Spellings is a hateful woman.
