"For marketers (especially those in non-traditional youth sectors) the perception that all kids are cool will always cause a certain amount of discomfort when planning their youth strategy. But we get way too hung up on the cache of coolness. Take a step back, take your wannabe cool hat off, forget the bleeding edgers and look at the majority of your young consumers.

When you look at the facts, your average teenager goes to school, does their homework, spends more time with their parents than their friends, saves money, listens to pop music, doesn’t drink (that much), doesn’t take drugs and wears a limited supply of high street fashion…

Kids generally aren't cool, you're just old."
