a tragedy

Memo to the news channels: the fact that a mentally ill man was killed by air marshalls today should not be taken advantage of as an opportunity to talk about the dangers of terrorism or the inadequacy of current security systems. He wasn't a terrorist and he didn't get a bomb -- or any other weapon -- through security. He was mentally ill and he acted out and now he's dead. It's a tragedy about being sick and not getting the treatment you need or taking care of yourself by adhering to your treatment.
