My mom drove a Ford Mustang when I was in high school and my friend Josh had a Taurus that he must have inherited from his mom or dad when we were in college. I think Dan's sister, Sara, has inherited one from her parents as well.

Anyway, Ford is being targeted right now by the American Family Association, a — guess what — conservative Christian group. The group is organizing a boycott of the car company, in part, due to a campaign that Ford has undertaken, vowing to give $1,000 to the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) every time a Jaguar or Land Rover is sold.

Ford is also apparently suffering the repercussions of getting a high score from the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) for offering benefits to same sex partners of their employees, donating money to GLBT organizations and marketing their cars to the GLBT community.

And — eek! — Ford forces its managers to "attend diversity training on how to promote the tolerance of homosexuality".

Damn them!

Go buy a Jaguar. Or a Land Rover. If you don't have the money to do that, you can head to GLAAD's site, the HRC site or the Ford site to show your support.

You can also head to the American Family Association "Boycott Ford" site and tell them to give me a rim job. (But only after they rinse the bile spewing from their mouths.)
