Dan Savage has a great column this week about gay men, STD's and personal responsibility. Wait, let me rephrase that. No need to be polite. Using Savage's chosen phrasing, it's a column about "Stupid, stupid faggot(s)", "risky sex" and the responsibility to say, "You shouldn't let guys f*ck you in the a** without using condoms, you stupid motherf*cker!"

Some gay guys are Web-surfin', crystal abusin', load-takin', slow-motion suicides, completely beyond help. Even so, gay guys who aren't suicides and/or sociopaths have to open their mouths and confront stupidity when and where we encounter it. At the very least, ethical gay guys have to be every bit as vocal as the gay sociopaths and their apologists who masquerade as HIV-prevention educators. By doing so, we can help to create a healthier community.
