what's the big deal?

Can someone explain to me why everyone making a big deal about David Geffen saying that Hillary Clinton isn't going to be elected president in 2008 because she's just too damn "polarizing"? Don't we all know that it's true? He didn't say, "I hate Hillary Clinton and eveything she stands for and I hope that she never gets elected president." He just said that she's not likely to win. Sorry, folks. It's not a merit contest, remember? It's a popularity contest, Just like back in high school when the stupid girl with the nice ass got elected student body president. Geffen wants the Dems to win in 2008 and he believes that Hillary isn't going to be the one to deliver it for us. No big deal.
