According to Nielsen, 78 percent of consumers worldwide think word of mouth is the most effective form of advertising. A study from GFK Roper says the numbers are higher in the U.S., with 80 percent of Americans saying word of mouth is the "most trustworthy source for purchase ideas and information" compared to 70 percent of consumers worldwide.
