We were all in a tizzy last September, watching the footage coming out New Orleans. We were embarrased and ashamed that our government could allow its people to suffer so. We were appropriately astounded by the insensitivity demonstrated toward the low income people in the city, who were treated like subhumans.

That was then, this is now.

Read the AP article this morning about how, in the time since, all that outrage has melted away and that, really, we all knew this kind of injustice existed all along, we just chose to ignore it -- until it came to us courtesy of cable.
