why, thank you

Thanks to E.J. Dionne for helping me to get a grasp of the UAE/port situation.

Thanks, as well, to Eugene Robinson for his piece on Larry Summers' departure from his post as President of Harvard.

Thanks to AP for letting us know that Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich's entire communications staff should probably be fired -- or at least taught the value of a pre-interview brief.

And, finally, thank you to the Department of Health and Human Services for doing the right thing and putting an end to the funding of the abstinence-only program, Silver Ring Thing. Maybe someone reminded them about the "Health" portion of their mission. (Thanks as well to the ACLU for staying on top of these things. It's good to know you're out there.)
