Read Howard Fineman's take on the evolution of Rep. Jack Murtha (D-PA) and his recent call to pull out troops from Iraq - NOW. As far as Howard is concerned, there are some things that are going right in Iraq that aren't being reported. In other words, it hasn't been a total failure. Nevertheless, the White House's decision to defend their policies by saying that the Democrats agreed with them at first is a pretty weak defense. Something that would make your mother ask, "Just because your friends jumped off a bridge, would you?"

Why, it almost sounds like something the Democrats themselves would say.
