a glimmer of hope

In the midst of the tales of misery coming out of the southeast, there's finally a bit of good news to celebrate.

The California Legislature became the first in the country to vote to legalize gay marriage. Sure, Schwarzennegger says he's going to veto it, but it's still a victory. Let's savor it for as long as we can -- until the courts step in and millions of dollars get spent to fund ballot initiatives that spew hatred based on fear.
